Fortunately, Éditions Norma is dedicating a beautiful volume, penned by art historian Pascal Bonafoux, to this genius decorator, of whom it is less known that he was a Russian emigrant, born in 1920 under the name Wiatscheslav Vassiliev.
Having become a decorator at Galeries Lafayette as early as 1943, Slavik reigned over Paris for nearly half a century until the 2000s.
