He is Wiatscheslav Vassiliev, better known by the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">pseudonym Slavik. Eight years after the death of the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">iconic designer, \u00c9ditions Norma presents Slavik: The Drugstore Years, a beautiful <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">book retracing the path of the aesthetic creator. Here, archival photos and <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">anecdotes interweave to reveal the scope of this <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">renowned decorator&#8217;s talent.<\/span><\/p><p>A student at Arts-D\u00e9co, Slavik was first recognized for his paintings with  <span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">surrealist accents before signing several theater sets. He established himself   <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">by revolutionizing the windows of Galeries Lafayette, which he staged <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">in a thoroughly modern and innovative way, creating a true narrative discourse <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">within them. In 1954, heading the industrial aesthetics department at <\/span> <span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Publicis, he conceived the atmospheres of the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\"><b>Parisian drugstores<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">, most <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">particularly the one on the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es that would bring him glory. There, in the lineage <\/span> <span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">of the Bauhaus, Slavik imagined objects and furniture whose form served <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">function. From then on, <\/span>   <b><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">he set the tone in matters of <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit;\">design and decoration in the French capital<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">, right up to the beginning of the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">2000s. We owe him the d\u00e9cor of numerous mythical Parisian restaurants, <\/span> <span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">such as Le D\u00f4me, the Lutetia brasserie, and the Jules <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">Verne in the Eiffel Tower. A vast and multifaceted career honored in this <\/span>  <span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">exhaustive
