A Russian \u00e9migr\u00e9 who studied at the School of Decorative Arts and IDHEC, Slavik designed the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and then the Saint-Germain-des-Pr\u00e9s, with their characteristic ambiance, partly drawing inspiration from the modernities of the V\u00e9rot-Dodat passage in Paris. <\/p><p data-start=\"782\" data-end=\"1238\">A workaholic, he designed more than <strong data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"834\">300 decors<\/strong> for brasseries, nightclubs, restaurants, and hotels. The book overflows with drawings, models, fashion posters, and advertisements, each more stunning than the last. It then becomes clear: Slavik was the decorator of a wild era when the economic crisis was still distant, when profusion, audacity, and the frantic pace of innovations marked the world&#8217;s progress.  <\/p><p data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1467\">With their legendary rigor, Norma editions drive this dynamic throughout the pages.
