A Contemporary Homage to the Parisian Brasserie<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 1980, when Slavik was commissioned to revive the historic brasserie Le Zeyer, dating from 1913<\/strong>, he inherited a place in the heart of the 14th arrondissement, steeped in history but losing its soul. He then chose to make this establishment a manifesto of what he does best: reconciling heritage and creation<\/strong>, old codes and a modern spirit. <\/p>

Slavik recreated and extended the original spirit<\/strong>, drawing from the main lines of Art Deco \u2014 geometry, light, symmetry, material.<\/p>

He chose to preserve the remarkable original floor mosaic and to provide lighting through a 100 m2 translucent dome painted in shades of yellow, orange, and red, which diffuses a soft light.<\/p>

He adorned the walls with mirrors along their entire height, creating depth effects.<\/p>

Unfortunately, these mirrors have been covered with plywood panels, the tables with turned aluminum bases designed by Slavik, and the charming Thonet armchairs have disappeared, and the banquettes are no longer Chesterfield-style leather.<\/p>

Nevertheless, enough original elements remain, such as the burr wood tables and sideboards, and the polished brass hat racks, for the Slavikian atmosphere to be preserved: welcoming, warm, and cheerful.<\/p>

Unlike other creations by Slavik located in transient or tourist areas, Le Zeyer<\/em> is part of the continuity of Parisian neighborhoods<\/strong> where people return regularly and enjoy being regulars.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On late evenings, after the cinema or caf\u00e9-th\u00e9\u00e2tre, when five or six friends are wondering which restaurant will still welcome them at such a late hour, one must think of a brasserie. Le Zeyer, until now somewhat neglected, has just undergone a facelift.
